Mission Trip to Kentucky Invitation
Old Union Presbyterian Church will have a mission trip and is inviting you to join them from July 21-27. They will be traveling to eastern Kentucky (about a six-hour drive) to assist with the recovery work from the July 2022 floods that devastated the region. It’s been almost two years, but there is still a lot of work to be done. They will be staying in either Whitesburg, Prestonsburg, Hazard or Jackson, KY, where several churches are hosting PDA work teams.
The group will depart on Sunday after worship and return the following Saturday. As always, the goal is for the cost of the trip to be no more than $100 per participant, with the rest of the funds coming from grants and donations.
Contact the church at oldunionchurch@gmail.com or 724-538-8672 for more information and/or to sign up.

Restorative Wilderness Experience
Emily Cowser, a second-year Master of Divinity student at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, has developed an idea for a trip for pastors and ministry leaders. As part of her Adaptive and Innovative Ministry emphasis, Emily is designing a restorative wilderness experience that will consist of desert canoeing and camping on the Lower Canyons section of the Rio Grande from Monday, Jan. 27, through Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025.
Participants will be immersed in a new backcountry environment away from the distractions, tasks, and stresses of their home lives in order to intentionally explore their well-being. Physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, and vocational restoration will be addressed through readings, practices, and group conversations.
The anticipated cost of the program is $3,163. This cost excludes air travel but includes all group program-related expenses upon arrival (food, shelter, and wilderness gear rental).
To express your interest, fill out the online form or contact Emily at ecowser@pts.edu.
