Worship services, presentations, displays, workshops & conversations - all were part of the Synod's Summer Conference 2007 held at beautiful Arcadia University, a Synod-related college. With scripture from Matthew 11: 28-29 and the theme "Rest for the Journey: Spirituality for Ministry and Mission, participants realized the importance of spirituality in our everyday lives.
At the Synod business meeting on Thursday afternoon, the Synod Review Team gave a preliminary update as they continue to examine the ministry and mission of the Synod of the Trinity over the past three and a half years.
As part of the Team’s presentation, the following questions were asked of Synod Commissioners:
| 1. |
What does it mean to be a “missional” Synod? How does being a “missional” Synod influence the structure of the Synod? |
| 2. |
What comes to mind about how the Synod has been helpful to your Presbytery? |
| 3. |
What do Synod Commissioners need to be better Synod Commissioners? |
| 4. |
Can you name the four priorities of the Synod? |
| 5. |
How can information about the Synod be effectively shared with all members of the Synod – not just Commissioners, Committee members, and Coordinating Teams? How can we best talk about the things the Synod is doing? |
If you would like to respond to any – or all – of these questions, please e-mail, Bettie Stammerjohn, Convener of the Synod Review Team, or call her at 724-747-7076 by June 30, 2007. Review Team members are listed at the end of the Preliminary Report which can be accessed by clicking here.
