Funding
Consultation
Representatives
from all sixteen presbyteries, the Synod of the Trinity,
and the General Assembly gathered in Bedford, Pennsylvania,
on September 30 for a two-day governing body funding consultation.
The purpose of the consultation was to build relationships
and partnerships among the governing bodies in supporting
mission.
Each
of the presbyteries made presentations related to mission
challenges and needs. Synod representatives presented
information on the new structure, priorities, programs,
designated funds, and the projected budget for 2004 and
2005. The General Assembly representative, Kathy Luckert,
presented some of the issues and challenges confronting
the General Assembly.
Participants
engaged in discussion groups related to developing principles
and guidelines for funding and suggestions for how the new
Synod system can more effectively serve needs and missions
of the presbyteries.
