The Synod of the Trinity expresses sadness on learning of the death on Monday, April 25, 2005 of our friend and colleague, the Rev. Robert R. Smyrl. Bob, a life-long devoted Presbyterian, was Moderator of the Synod in 1964. He served as Executive Presbyter of Lackawanna Presbytery from 1949 until his retirement in 1979.
Formerly of Tunkhannock, PA, Bob and Marie had moved to the Willow Valley Retirement Community, Lancaster, to enjoy their well-deserved retirement. Thanks to God for Bob and his service in the Lord's Name. His devotion and enthusiasm will be missed. |
