| Beginning March 15, 2006, Steve Cort, Krislund's Camp Administrator, and wife Robin, will start their hike of the 2,179-mile Appalachian Trail in the hopes of raising $100,000. "We just recently purchased 1500 acres of beautiful mountain land surrounding the "original" Krislund property and felt this was a unique way of supporting the "Donate An Acre" Campaign," comments Steve.
The pair will hike from south to north (“northbounders”), starting at Springer Mountain, Georgia and ending at Mount Katahdin in Maine, hopefully ending in late September. “I’m a little nervous but the self-challenge is exciting,” said Robin Cort, realizing it's 5 million steps in all kinds of weather. They plan to visit churches partnering with Krislund Camp when the trail is nearby, and to send newsletter accounts to friends and sponsors throughout the trip via the camp office.
