Many communities within the bounds of The Synod of the Trinity have sustained significant damage from the past week's heavy and persistent rain.  While accurate assessments will not be available for a week or more, preliminary indications are that throughout the presbyteries of Kiskiminetas, Huntingdon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, and Northumberland, churches have been damaged and persons evacuated from flood-ravaged homes.

We may hear from additional presbyteries as they are still assessing the losses within their bounds.  The need for immediate assistance is great, and the recovery and re-building will take many months.

What is the Synod doing?
The Synod is providing $2,000 immediate grants to presbyteries at the request of the Presbytery Executive or General Presbyter to assist with immediate need.
Additional funding will be determined on a case by case basis per the Presbytery Executive or General Presbyter.
All Synod financial assistance will be made through the presbyteries.
