Nine of us went to La Entrada, Honduras from The Barn (an emergent community being formed in Lehigh Presbytery). We worked with the Hearts for Honduras School...a
Christia
n School begun by Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church (our partner church) about 5 years ago. Folks from the Barn were involved with construction, education, dental, eye, and medical teams. The pictures show the main happening in our time together: the forming of relationships.

Our youth also had the privilege of working with high school aged translators and sharing in their school experiences. Our dental team treated the 160 school children. The eye team saw approx. 70 people a day and fitted them with glasses. The school team worked both wi
th our Hearts for Honduras students as well as local public school children. They conducted a version of Vacation Bible School. The medical team was
able to give well exams to the Hearts for Honduras School children. I worked on interviewing, encouraging, and teaching the staff of the school.
We had the rich opportunity of being the special buddy of a few of the school children for the week. We went to their homes, They had a special dinner at the school with us and they were our guests at breakfast. These relationships encouraged us and the children we have come to love so much.
