National Health Ministries will unveil the new mobile health education unit this fall. Funded through a 2004 Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Offering grant, MOM (short for Mission On the Move), will be available to the National Health Ministries (NHM) office, Mid-Kentucky and Transylvania Presbyteries. NHM will organize mission trips to areas of the country that are medically underserved, taking health information, basic screening and health risk assessment capabilities. Although the van will not provide medical services, areas that are medically undeserved often have not had access to the health education, wellness and prevention services that the van will provide.

According to Pat Gleich, associate for National Health Ministries, “we chose Health Mission on the Move! not only as the name for the project, but as an identification for a campaign to show that health ministries are dynamic and active. The mobile unit will be an exciting way to demonstrate visible and tangible images for all of the programs.”

We are actively searching for folks who want to become involved in this mission opportunity.

	We need volunteers who have a health related background and who want to participate in mission trips,
	We are seeking congregations that want to partner with us to support the costs of outreach, and
	We are also identifying congregations in medically undeserved areas that would like the mobile unit to come to their community.
