The Barn - Macungie, PA
A new church development in Lehigh Presbytery incorporating contemporary worship and a creative outreach/evangelism ministry, The Barn longs to be a truly welcoming, diverse, and safe faith community that invites seekers, skeptics, and the disenchanted to explore and hopefully encounter God’s relentless (amazing) love. Recognized by the Synod at its October 2005 meeting, The Barn emerges as a spiritual community that deeply values four areas:
Encountering God |
Balance |
Authentic Community |
Neighbors Matter |

Inspired by the Rev. Dr. Sue Pizor Yoder, spiritual gatherings are "much more of an interchange, more participatory, than most churches", she says. "We emphasize relationships over dogma". Beginning on October 16, 2005, The Barn Gathering meets at 10 AM every Sunday at the Macungie Institute in Macungie, PA stating on their publication that "we are a new community trying to create a safe place to explore/encounter God. Consider joining us as we explore God's amazing love and how we can pass that love on to others."
Arts at the Barn, Children and Youth, and Neighbors Matter, all work together to make The Barn a reality while small groups "Love, Care, Pray, and Serve Together". To read more about this exciting and innovative emerging church, click on any of the links.
On November 29, 2005, The Barn was highlighted in Lehigh Valley's morning newspaper, The Morning Call.
