Presbytery elects new Executive Presbyter
Beaver-Butler
Presbytery recently elected a new Executive Presbyter, The
Rev. Alan Adams. The Rev. Adams was elected by an overwhelming
majority of the presbytery at their meeting on May 25, 2004
in Calvin Presbyterian Church, Zelienople. The effective
date of call was July 1st. Rev. Adams attended the General
Assembly meeting in Richmond, VA and was granted two week’s
transition time for moving home and office and meeting with
the Interim Executive Presbyter, the Rev. Dr. Carolyn Jones.
He began his work in the Presbytery Office on July 19 and
has been busy meeting pastors and congregations of the presbytery.
Rev. Adams is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Seminary
and was ordained as pastor of Strathmoor Presbyterian Church
of Louisville in 1996 by Mid-Kentucky Presbytery. In that
presbytery, Rev. Adams served as Chair of the Committee
on Ministry and in several other capacities. He and his
wife, Carla, have grown children – one in Louisville and
another in San Diego. Rev. and Mrs. Adams are in the
process of searching for housing within in the vicinity
of Zelienople, where the Presbytery Center is located. The
Rev. Dr. A. Gary Angleberger, Associate for Communication
and Stewardship for the Synod of the Trinity, chaired the
Search Committee in its 18 month search process.
