First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown seeks Interim Pastor
The First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, PA has opened a search for a full-time Interim Pastor. Applications are currently being accepted with the goal of filling the position as soon as practicable. Individuals who have served as Senior Pastor at a 1,000 +/- member church are preferred.
The Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Pittsburgh Presbytery, and is located approximately 20 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh. The active membership is 1,100 members. The Rev. Dr. David L. McDonald resigned as Senior Pastor effective July 31, 2005 after serving 8 1/2 years in that capacity to accept a call to First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, GA. There is one Associate Pastor and a full-time Business Manager/Administrator, along with five full-time and five part-time staff persons. Two Sunday morning worship services differing in style and content are offered with the same sermon preached at both. Additional information about our church can be found on our web site.
The following is a statement of the responsibilities to be assumed by the Interim Pastor:

Preaching at both services on an average of 3 Sundays per month |

Administering communion at least 5 times a year
|

Being Moderator of Session: 3 classes of 7 ruling elders each - 21 total |

Acting as head of staff, including managing pastoral care, presiding over weekly staff meetings, and sharing other ministerial duties |
|
Encouraging and guiding the existing staff and lay members as appropriate in the ministry and mission of the Church as they are led by the Holy Spirit and enabled by the community of saints |
|
Pre-counseling for and performance of weddings and baptisms as requested |
