Are you are looking for a Lenten Adult study?  Consider our multi-church program on Job for the season of Lent:

"Lent has traditionally been a time for addressing the “dark side” of our lives. After 9/11, hurricanes, earthquakes, and wars causing the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians, what could be more timely than a biblical book which probes why innocent people suffer and die? Can God be held responsible? How can believers cope with the pain and questions raised by the untimely death of innocent people?

The "satan" says Job is only pious because it pays. Job's “friends” see his suffering and urge him to repent, yet Job refuses, insisting he is innocent - to repent would be to lie. God says Job's friends did not speak rightly "as Job did."  Yet Job accused God of not being just, and filed a lawsuit charging God with malpractice. Who is right? How do we know?

Why do good things happen to bad people and why do bad things happen to innocent people? Should people fight with God? Can Job really put God on trial? What do we do when we are asked to explain the inexplicable?  We will explore these and other issues raised by this brilliant and profound biblical book."
