Church
World Service is SIXTY years young!
Church
World Service was born
in the aftermath of World War II
in 1946. 35
Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican
denominations came
together to form an agency "to
do together what none of us could
hope to do as well alone."
Their
mission was clear: Feed the hungry, Clothe
the naked, Heal the sick, Comfort
the aged, and Shelter the homeless. Working
in partnership with indigenous organizations
in more than 80 countries, CWS works worldwide
to meet human needs and foster self-reliance
for all whose way is hard. |
