Nominations requested for the
Andrew E. Murray Peacemaking Award 2005
Deadline is July 1, 2005
In order to acknowledge peacemaking endeavors within the Presbyteries of the Synod of the Trinity, the Peacemaking Ministries Network invites nominations for the Andrew E. Murray Synod Peacemaking Award 2005. The Network wishes to honor those who daily work for peace in some way within the Synod. We lift up and celebrate peacemaking efforts by encouraging nominations of groups, congregations, or persons within the bounds of the Synod that have made special efforts in peacemaking The award recipients are publicly recognized at the annual Peacemaking Ministries Network’s awards presentation during a breakfast or dinner. Each recipient receives a framed certificate and a $500 cash award.
Each year a peacemaking awards booklet is published in which the ministries and projects receiving awards are detailed and the church and presbytery with which each recipient is affiliated are named. These booklets are distributed at the awards ceremony and are available on the Synod's web site.
If you know of a group, church, person, organization, or project within the bounds of the Synod that exemplifies the peacemaking which Christ calls us to do, you are invited to send your nomination to your presbytery’s Peacemaking Committee, advocate, or entity. Nominations are based on creativity, purpose, variety, and perserverance depiste obstacles and the criteria is available online or at your Presbytery office. Questions should be directed to Marcia Humer at the Synod Office via phone 800-242-0534 or email.
Each Presbytery’s Peacemaking Committee makes the final selection from the nominations received and submits it to the Peacemaking Network office. The recipients as well as the nominators will receive notification in August, along with information and details about when and where the awards ceremony will be held. Deadline for nominations is July 1, 2005.
